Desk Organization

For those of you that don't know, I am a very organized person.  That being said, I am also a very messy person.  (Sometime I think that I subconsciously make messes so that I can organize them! hehe!)

I'm a teacher and things can get a little hairy in a short period of time.

This is my excuse for why my desk looks awful.  There is a para that takes over my classroom so I can eat lunch.  I usually apologize daily for the mess that I call my desk.

Let me show you what I'm talking about...

This is my middle desk drawer.  Complete disaster.
BEFORE

Much better.  I got rid of stuff I wasn't using and organized the stuff I was actually using.
AFTER

Here is my top left hand drawer.  It contains extra supplies, calculators, and a piles of papers.
 BEFORE

Post-it Flags and calculators got moved to the front because they are used often.  (Cell phone on hand in case of emergency.)  The next little slot holds note cards, thank you notes, envelopes, and my thingy to back-up my lap top (Yes, I know so much about technology.)  And my extra supplies found there home in the back as they are not used much.
AFTER

This is my second left hand drawer.  It contains more extra supplies, oil for my burner (if you know middle school kids, you understand this!), and a first aid fit safely buried under a bunch of crap.
BEFORE

Many of the things in this draw found homes elsewhere.  My first aid kit (the blue tin) is now accessible and the oils are neatly lines up.  In the back of the drawer is a pencil box with extra pencils and a pkg of paperclips.  My Post-it notes migrated from another drawer and are much happier here.
AFTER

I heart Post-it Notes!!!!

Here is my left hand drawer.  It's become a "catch-all" with no real purpose other than stashing junk.
BEFORE

Now a drawer for construction paper (on bottom) and printer paper.
AFTER

Now on to the right side of my desk...

Here is my top drawer which formerly held my Post-it note obsession, staplers, tape, folders, keyboard covers, etc.
BEFORE

Much more simple with only the necessities.
AFTER

Last drawer, which has files and notebooks.
BEFORE

Just some reordering, but looks a lot better.
AFTER

That's the inside of my desk.  I can now breathe a sigh of relief, its so much easier to find things.

One last thing, check out this little caddy thing I found at Staples.  It was only $5 and it organized supplies on my desk that I use multiple time a day.  It even spins!  I'm sorta in love with it.

Thanks for stopping by.
